Change in some of the services we would normally offer our patients

We are saddened to have to inform you that there is a change in some of the services we would normally offer our patients as we have been notified that Innovations in Primary Care, our GP Federation ceased trading with effect from Friday 27th September 2024.

Innovations in Primary Care were a GP Federation who supported 43 GP Surgeries and their patients across Coastal West Sussex.

A spokesperson for Innovations in Primary Care has advised that ‘They are currently taking advice on winding up the company and planning for liquidation’.

Lancing & Sompting PCN, which includes Ball Tree & Kingfisher Surgeries, New Pond Row Surgery and The Orchard Surgery were not made aware of the difficulties they were in or the services that they would no longer be able to provide for us.

Among the services that they offered on our behalf that have been impacted are:

  • Monday to Friday - 6.00pm to 8.00pm Based at New Pond Row Surgery
    • Face to Face and Remote Access GP Appointments
  • Saturday Morning - 9.00am to 1.00pm Based at New Pond Row Surgery
    • Nurse Appointments including Cervical Smear and Wound Care Appointments
  • Saturday Morning - 9.00am to 1.00pm Based at New Pond Row Surgery
    • Face to Face GP Appointments.

The closure of ‘Innovations in Primary Care’ has had a huge impact on the number of appointments Lancing & Sompting PCN are able to offer, with no notice to be able to provide cover.

The local Integrated Care Board (NHS Sussex) are aware of the situation and the additional pressures this is putting on our General Practice Surgeries and that of the surrounding area.

We are working to ensure that the impact on patients in minimal, however please be aware of the additional pressure this is putting on the three surgeries in Lancing & Sompting PCN at an incredibly busy time of year.
